Month-over-month (September 2023 vs August 2023, seasonally adjusted )
The United Kingdom goods and services trade deficit narrowed by £1.1 billion to £1.6 billion. Exports of goods and services decreased 2.2% (£1.6 billion) to £69.5 billion and imports of goods and services decreased 3.7% (£2.7 billion) to £71.1 billion.
The United Kingdom goods trade deficit narrowed by £1.2 billion to £14.3 billion. Exports of goods decreased 4.5% (£1.4 billion) to £30.3 billion and imports of goods decreased 5.6% (£2.6 billion) to £44.6 billion.
The United Kingdom services trade surplus decreased by 0.8% (£0.11 billion) to £12.7 billion. Exports of services decreased 0.4% (£0.16 billion) to £39.2 billion and imports of services decreased 0.2% (£0.06 billion) to £26.5 billion.

The United Kingdom goods and services was a surplus in September 2022 and fell to a deficite by £2.7 billion. Goods trade deficit widened by £1.1 billion and services trade surplus narrowed by £1.6 billion.
UNITED KINGDOM TRADING PARTNERS
Month-over-month (September 2023 vs August 2023, seasonally adjusted)
The United Kingdom EU goods trade deficit decreased by £0.8 billion to £9.8 billion. Exports of goods decreased by £0.5 billion to £15.2 billion and imports of goods decreased by £1.3 billion to £25.0 billion.
The United Kingdom non-EU goods trade deficit narrowed by £0.4 billion to £4.5 billion. Exports of goods decreased 5.8% (£0.9 billion) to £15.1 billion and imports of goods decreased by 6.3% (£1.3 billion) to £19.6 billion.
Year-over-year (September 2023 vs September 2022, seasonally adjusted )
The United Kingdom-EU goods trade deficit grew by £2.9 billion and non-EU goods trade deficit narrowed by £1.8 billion.
