April 16, 2024EU AND EURO AREA TRADE BALANCE IN GOODS, FEBRUARY 2024 Month-over-month (February 2024 vs January 2024, seasonally adjusted)
In the 27 countries of the European Union, the balance of trade in goods surplus dropped from €24.1 billion in January to €14.8 billion in February 2024. Exports from the European Union were up 0.5% to €213.4 billion while imports grew by 5.4% to €198.5 billion.

In the 20 countries of the Euro Area, the balance of trade in goods surplus fell to €17.9 billion in February 2024 from €27.1 billion in the previous month. Exports from the Euro Area fell by 0.2% to €238.0 billion while imports rose by 4.2% to €220.1 billion.

The European Union continued to run consistent surpluses in goods trade with the UK (€15.1 billion), Canada (€1.2 billion) and the US (€13.5 billion).



Likewise, for the subset of European Union countries that use the Euro, there was a goods trade surplus with the UK (€11.6 billion), Canada (€0.8 billion) and the US (€12.8 billion).
