US construction spending decreased 0.2% to $2,083.9 billion.
- Total residential construction decreased 0.7% to $884.3 billion.
- Total non-residential construction spending increased 0.2% to $1,188.0 billion.
- Public sector construction increased 0.8% to $483.1 billion.
- Private sector construction decreased 0.5% to $1,600.8 billion.

Private residential construction decreased 0.7% to $895.9 billion, while private non-residential construction spending decreased 0.2% to $716.5 billion.
Public residential construction increased 0.5% to $11.6 billion, while public non-residential construction spending increased 0.8% to $471.5 billion.

Year-to-date (January-March 2024 vs January-March 2023)
US construction spending increased 10.3%.
- Total residential construction increased 4.5%.
- Total non-residential construction spending increased 15.2%.
- Public sector construction increased 18.9%.
- Private sector construction increased 8.0%.
