US construction spending increased 0.1% to $2,148.8 billion.
- Total residential construction increased 0.2% to $925.4 billion.
- Total non-residential construction spending increased 0.1% to $1,223.4 billion.
- Private sector construction was unchanged at $1,653.6 billion.
- Public sector construction increased 0.5% to $495.2 billion.
Private residential construction increased 0.2% to $913.6 billion, while private non-residential construction spending decreased 0.1% to $740.0 billion.
Public residential construction increased 2.3% to $11.7 billion, while public non-residential construction spending increased 0.4% to $483.5 billion.
Year-to-date (January-September 2024 vs January-September 2023)
US construction spending increased 7.3%.
- Total residential construction increased 6.6%.
- Total non-residential construction spending increased 7.8%.
- Private sector construction increased 6.3%.
- Public sector construction increased 10.7%.
