February 19, 2025UK CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, JANUARY 2025 
UK Consumer Price Index including owner-occupiers' housing costs (CPIH) increased 3.9% year-over-year in January 2025, this was up from 3.5% year-over-year in December 2024. The UK CPI index was up 3.0% year-over-year in January, accelerating from 2.5% in December. The owner occupiers' housing costs component accounts for 17% of the CPIH. It is the main driver for differences between the CPIH and CPI inflation rates. The largest upward contributions came from six divisions, mostly from transport and food and non-alcoholic beverages, partly offset by decline in housing/household services and miscellaneous goods/services.
