US CONSTRUCTION SPENDING, FEBRUARY 2025

Month over month (February 2025 vs January 2025), seasonally adjusted annual rate)

US construction spending increased 0.7% to $2,195.8 billion.                                                                                                                                                    

  • Total residential construction increased 1.3% to $940.6 billion.
  • Total non-residential construction spending increased 0.3% to $1,255.2 billion.
  • Private sector construction increased 0.9% to $1,686.4 billion.
  • Public sector construction increased 0.2% to $509.3 billion.                                                           

Private residential construction increased 1.3% to $928.9 billion, while private non-residential construction spending increased 0.4% to $757.5 billion.

Public residential construction increased 0.2% to $11.7 billion, while public non-residential construction spending increased 0.2% to $497.7 billion.

Year-to-date (January-February 2025 vs January-February 2024)

US construction spending increased 2.8%. 

  • Total residential construction increased 1.5%.
  • Total non-residential construction spending increased 3.8%.                                                       
  • Private sector construction increased 1.8%.
  • Public sector construction increased 6.1%.
