JAPAN CURRENT ACCOUNT AND TRADE BALANCE, MARCH 2025

Month-over-month (March 2025 vs February 2025)

The current account  surplus narrowed by ¥183.1 billion to ¥2,723.1 billion.                                                          

  • the goods trade surplus switched to a deficit of ¥220.2 billion
  • the services trade deficit widened by ¥31.7 billion to ¥348.3 billion
  • the primary income surplus widened by ¥396.6 to ¥3,735.6 billion
  • the secondary income deficit widened by ¥117.7 billion to ¥443.9 billion

The goods trade balance changed from a surplus to a deficit of ¥220.2 billion.

  • goods exports decreased ¥571.4 billion to ¥9,028.9 billion.
  • goods imports decreased ¥141.2 billion to ¥9,249.1 billion.
