Looking at goods-producing industries as well as wholesale trade (excluding the small value of goods exports from other services-producing industries), Nova Scotia's value of exports per firm were typically lower than the comparable national averages. The exceptions were: plastics/rubber products and agriculture/forestry/fishing.

The Halifax and East Hants Census Metropolitan Area accounted for about half of goods exporters in 2024.

Although Halifax and East Hants accounted for half of goods exporters, the value of exports per firm was substantially higher for exporters outside the Census Metropolitan Area.
