May 21, 2025UK CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, APRIL 2025 
UK Consumer Price Index including owner-occupiers' housing costs (CPIH) accelerated to 4.1% year-over-year in April 2025, this was up from 3.4% year-over-year in March 2025. The UK CPI index was up 3.5% year-over-year in April, growing from 2.6% in March. The owner occupiers' housing costs component accounts for 17% of the CPIH. It is the main driver for differences between the CPIH and CPI inflation rates. The largest upward contributions were in housing and household services, transport, and recreation/culture. These gains were partly offset by downward contributions from clothing and footwear.
