June 03, 2025EU AND EURO AREA UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, APRIL 2025 
Eurostat has reported that the unemployment rate in the Euro Area was down to 6.2% in April 2025. For the broader 27 countries of the entire European Union, the unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.9% in April 2025.
The Euro Area youth unemployment rate edged down to 14.4% in April from the previous month's rate of 14.8%. In the European Union, the youth unemployment rate edged down to 14.8% in April from 15.0% in March.
The unemployment rate for females in the Euro Area was down compared to the previous month at 6.5% in April. The male unemployment rate edged down to 6.0% from 6.1% in March 2025. The European Union unemployment rate for females was down to 6.1% in April 2025. The unemployment rate for males edged down to 5.6% in the European Union compared to 5.7% in the previous month.
Among EU member state economies, the April unemployment rates were highest in Spain, Finland, and Sweden. The unemployment rate was lowest in Poland, Bulgaria, Czechia, and Malta.
