Labour productivity of Canadian businesses increased at a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 0.7% from Q4 2024 to Q1 2025, following a gain of 4.8% in Q4 2024. Hours worked increased 1.8% and output was up 2.5%.
Total compensation per hour declined at a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 0.4% in Q1 2025. Unit labour costs of Canadian businesses fell at a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 1.1% in Q1 2025.
