US TRADE BALANCE, APRIL 2025

Month over month (April 2025 vs March 2025)

The United States trade deficit in goods and services narrowed by $76.7 billion to $61.6 billion. The goods deficit narrowed by $75.2 billion to $87.4 billion, and the services surplus widened by $1.5 billion to $25.8 billion.                                                                                                                                                                                      

Total exports increased $8.3 billion to $289.4 billion. Goods exports increased $16.2 billion to $190.5 billion, and services exports increased $2.1 billion to $98.9 billion.

Total imports decreased $68.4 billion to $351.0 billion. Goods imports decreased $68.8 billion to $277.9 billion, and services imports increased $529 million to $73.1 billion.

 Year over year (April 2025 vs April 2024)

The US trade deficit narrowed by $11.5 billion. The goods deficit narrowed by $11.5 billion, and the services surplus widened by $50 million.

Total exports decreased by $23.0 billion. Goods exports increased $17.5 billion, and services exports increased $5.5 billion.

Total imports increased $11.5 billion. Goods imports increased $5.9 billion, and services imports increased $5.6 billion.
