July 17, 2025US RETAIL SALES AND FOOD SERVICE RECEIPTS, JUNE 2025 Month-over-month (June vs May 2025, seasonally adjusted)
In the advance estimates of U.S retail sales and food service receipts, total sales increased 0.6% from the previous month. Excluding food services receipts, retail trade increased 0.6%. Food service and drinking places receipts increased 0.6%.
Year-over-year (June 2025 vs June 2024, seasonally adjusted)
US retail trade and food services receipts increased 3.9% from the same period last year. Retail trade increased 3.5% and food services and drinking places sales increased 6.6%.
Year-to-date (January-June 2025 vs January-June 2024)
US retail sales were up 4.3% with gains in all categories except in electronics and gas stations. The fastest gains (in percentage terms) were in health and personal care, non-store retailers, miscellaneous, and furniture stores. Food service receipts were up 5.6% year-to-date.
