July 31, 2025EU AND EURO AREA UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, JUNE 2025 
Eurostat has reported that the unemployment rate in the Euro Area was 6.2% in June 2025, unchanged from the revised May unemployment rate. For the broader 27 countries of the entire European Union, the unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.9% in June 2025.
The Euro Area youth unemployment rate declined to 14.1% in June from the previous month's rate of 14.3%. In the European Union, the youth unemployment rate was 14.7% in June, unchanged from May.
The unemployment rate for females in the Euro Area was 6.4% in June, down from 6.5% the previous month. The male unemployment rate was 6.0%, unchanged from May 2025. The European Union unemployment rate for females was 6.0% in June 2025, down from 6.1% the previous month. The unemployment rate for males was stable at 5.7% in the European Union compared May 2025.
Among EU member state economies, the June unemployment rates were highest in Spain, Finland and Sweden. The unemployment rate was lowest in Malta and Czechia. June unemployment numbers were unavailable for Greece.
