In Nova Scotia,
- The labour force increased 3,500 (+0.6%) to 564,700
- Employment increased 1,800 (+0.3%) to 525,400
- The number of unemployed persons increased 1,700 (+4.5%) to 39,300
- The unemployment rate increased 0.3 percentage points to 7.0%
In Canada,
- The labour force decreased 33,000 (-0.1%) to 22,580,700
- Employment decreased 40,800 (-0.2%) to 21,020,400
- The number of unemployed persons increased 7,700 (+0.5%) to 1,560,200
- The unemployment rate was unchanged at 6.9%
In Halifax and East Hants Census Metropolitan Area, (3-month moving average)
- The labour force increased 700 (+0.2%) to 311,300
- Employment increased 2,000 (+0.7%) to 294,400
- The number of unemployed persons decreased 1,300 (-7.1%) to 16,900
- The unemployment rate decreased 0.5 percentage points to 5.4%
YEAR OVER YEAR (July 2025 vs July 2024)
In Nova Scotia,

- Employment increased 307,500 (+1.5%)
