August 12, 2025UK UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, APRIL-JUNE 2025 
The UK unemployment rate for the three-month period April to June 2025 was 4.7%, 0.2 percentage points higher than the preceding 3 month period (January 2025-March 2025). From April to June 2024, the UK unemployment rate averaged 4.2%.
There were 1.672 million unemployed people in the UK, 58,000 (+3.6%) more than the preceding 3 month period and 205,000 (+14.0%) more than at the same time a year ago. Employment in the UK was at 34.214 million, 239,000 (+0.7%) more than the preceding 3 month period and 725,000 (+2.2%) more compared to a year earlier. UK labour force increased by 297,000 (+0.8%) from the preceding 3 month period and by 930,000 (+2.7%) over the past year, rising to 35.886 million.
