EURO AREA CURRENT ACCOUNT, JUNE 2025

Month over month (June 2025 vs May 2025, seasonally adjusted)

The European Central Bank reported today that the Euro Area:

  • Current account surplus widened by €4.1 billion to €35.8 billion
  • Goods trade surplus narrowed by €10.5 billion to €22.6 billion
  • Services trade surplus widened by €2.2 billion to €15.8 billion
  • Primary income surplus widened by €13.4 billion to €14.0 billion
  • Secondary income deficit widened by €1.1 billion to €16.6 billion

Euro Area's exports of goods declined by 1.1% to €235.2 billion. Imports of goods grew 3.8% to €212.7 billion.   

Exports of services from the Euro Area increased by 1.0% to €131.1 billion while imports of services to the Euro Area decreased 0.7% to €115.3 billion.  

Primary income receipts for the Euro Area decreased by 4.3% to €108.2 billion while payments declined by 16.2% to €94.2 billion. 

Secondary income receipts in the Euro Area declined by 2.4% to €15.4 billion while secondary income payments from the Euro Area increased by 2.1% to €32.0 billion.
