US construction spending increased 0.1% to $2,210.2 billion.
- Total residential construction increased 0.4% to $942.8 billion.
- Total non-residential construction spending decreased 0.02% to $1,267.4 billion.
- Private sector construction increased 0.03% to $1,669.0 billion.
- Public sector construction increased 0.5% to $541.2 billion.
Private residential construction increased 0.3% to $930.2 billion, while private non-residential construction spending decreased 0.3% to $738.7 billion.
Public residential construction increased 2.8% to $12.5 billion, while public non-residential construction spending increased 0.4% to $528.7 billion.
Year-to-date (January-May 2026 vs January-May 2025)
US construction spending decreased 2.6%.

- Total non-residential construction spending decreased 4.2%.
