Real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Canada was up by 0.2% in December 2025, with gains in both goods and service producing industries.

Real GDP in Canada's services-producing industries rose 0.2% from November to December 2025.

In December 2025, thirteen of Canada's key industry sub-sectors reported real GDP growth compared to the previous month, partly offset by declines in the other seven.
Among goods-producing industries, declines agriculture/forestry/fishing and in mining/oil/gas were partly offset by gains in utilities, construction, and manufacturing. Manufacturing grew after two consecutive months of declines, with gains in both durable and non-durable goods manufacturing. Utilities grew for the third consecutive month with expansion electric power generation, transmission and distribution.
Service-producing industries reported real GDP growth of 0.2% compared to November. Growth was led by wholesale trade and arts /recreation, with growth reported in ten subsectors.
Transportation and warehousing grew in December for the second straight month on strength in transit, ground passenger and scenic and sightseeing transportation as well as couriers and messengers.

Annual (2025 vs 2024)
The Canadian economy was 1.6% larger in 2025 when compared to 2024.
Real GDP from goods-producing industries grew 1.5% with growth in all subsectors partly offset by a decline in manufacturing.
Real GDP from services-producing industries was up 1.6% with gains in most industries. The strongest gains were in finance/insurance, retail trade, and health care/social assistance. Declines were reported in company management (though this is a small industry), personal/repair services, and administration/support services.
