US construction spending declined 0.5% to $2,157.6 billion.
- Total residential construction decreased 1.3% to $871.2 billion.
- Total non-residential construction spending increased 0.1% to $1,286.4 billion.
- Private sector construction decreased 0.5% to $1,614.2 billion.
- Public sector construction decreased 0.2% to $543.4 billion.
Private residential construction decreased 1.3% to $859.0 billion, while private non-residential construction spending increased 0.4% to $755.2 billion.
Public residential construction decreased 0.4% to $12.2 billion, while public non-residential construction spending decreased 0.2% to $531.2 billion.
Year-to-date (January-July 2026 vs January-July 2025)
US construction spending decreased 3.3%.
- Total residential construction decreased 3.5%.
- Total non-residential construction spending decreased 3.2%.
- Private sector construction decreased 4.6%.
