May 24, 2024UK RETAIL SALES, APRIL 2024 The UK Office for National Statistics reports that UK retail sales value as well as retail sales volume fell in April 2024.
Month over month (April 2024 vs March 2024)
Retail sales values decreased by 2.6% and volumes (adjusted to remove the effects of price changes) were down 2.3%.
Internet sales decreased by 1.2% and accounted for 26.5% of total retail sales.
Year-over-Year (April 2024 vs April 2023)
Retail sales values decreased 1.4% while retail sales volumes decreased 2.7%.
Year-to-date (Jan-Apr 2024 vs Jan-Apr 2023)
Retail sales values increased 1.9% and retail sales volumes decreased 0.5%.
