June 21, 2024UK RETAIL SALES, MAY 2024 The UK Office for National Statistics reports that UK retail sales value as well as retail sales volume rose in May 2024.
Month over month (May 2024 vs April 2024)
Retail sales values increased by 3.3% and volumes (adjusted to remove the effects of price changes) were up 2.9%.
Internet sales increased by 5.4% and accounted for 27.2% of total retail sales.
Year-over-Year (May 2024 vs May 2023)
Retail sales values increased 2.2% while retail sales volumes increased 1.3%.
Year-to-date (Jan-May 2024 vs Jan-May 2023)
Retail sales values increased 1.9% and retail sales volumes decreased 0.2%.
