In Nova Scotia,

  • Labour force increased 100 (+0.0%) to 548,300
  • Employment increased 600 (+0.1%) to 514,600
  • Unemployment decreased 600 (-1.8%) to 33,600
  • Unemployment Rate decreased 0.1 percentage points to 6.1%

In Canada

  • Labour force increased 137,800 (+0.6%) to 22,163,700
  • Employment increased 50,500 (+0.2%) to 20,647,400
  • Unemployment increased 87,300 (+6.1%) to 1,516,300
  • Unemployment Rate increased 0.3 percentage points to 6.8%

In Halifax,  (3-month moving average) 

  • Labour force decreased 1,500 (-0.5%) to 294,000
  • Employment decreased 600 (-0.2%) to 278,900
  • Unemployment decreased 900 (-5.6%) to 15,100
  • Unemployment Rate decreased 0.3 percentage points to 5.1%

YEAR OVER YEAR (November 2024 vs November 2023)

In Nova Scotia,

  • Labour force increased 9,100 (+1.7%)
  • Employment increased 11,200 (+2.2%)
  • Unemployment decreased 2,200 (-6.1%)
  • Unemployment Rate decreased 0.5 percentage points

In Canada

  • Labour force increased 605,000 (+2.8%)
  • Employment increased 329,300 (+1.6%)
  • Unemployment increased 275,800 (+22.2%)
  • Unemployment Rate increased 1.0 percentage points
