March 17, 2025US RETAIL SALES AND FOOD SERVICE RECEIPTS, FEBRUARY 2025 Month-over-month (February vs January 2025, seasonally adjusted)
In the advance estimates of U.S retail sales and food service receipts, total sales grew 0.2% from January to February 2025. Excluding food services receipts, retail trade grew 0.5%. Food service and drinking place receipts declined 1.5%.
Year-over-year (February 2024 vs February 2025, seasonally adjusted)
US retail trade and food services receipts increased 3.1% from February 2024 to February 2025. Retail trade increased 3.4% and food services and drinking places sales increased 1.5%.
US retail sales were up with gains in all categories except in sporting and recreation and electronics. The fastest gains (in percentage terms) were in health and personal retailers and miscellaneous stores.
