Japan's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate declined to 2.4% in February 2025. Compared with the previous month, Japan's labour force and employment both declined by 0.2%.
Japan's unemployment rate has been stable since 2022, with slow growth in both labour force and employment in the end of 2024; a slight decline followed in 2024. In contrast, Canada and Nova Scotia have experienced faster growth in both labour force and employment, but also with a rising trend in unemployment rates since 2022. Nova Scotia's unemployment rate has been more volatile with unemployment going up in recent months.
