September 05, 2025EU AND EURO AREA GDP, Q2 2025 (THIRD ESTIMATE) 

In the third GDP estimate for Q2 2025, the seasonally adjusted annualized growth rate for real GDP was 0.9% for the European Union and 0.5% for the Euro Area (a subset of 20 of the 27 nations of the European Union).
Among member states reporting results for Q2, quarter over quarter growth was fastest in Denmark, Romania and Croatia. Finland, Germany and Italy recorded declines compared to the previous quarter.
The European Union economy was 1.6% larger compared to the second quarter of 2024. The Euro Area economy was 1.5% larger in Q2 2025 than in Q2 2024.

Among GDP expenditure components, both the European Union and the Euro Area reported gains from household consumption and government spending. Investment and exports declined. Imports were stable for the Euro Area and up for the European Union.
