JAPAN CURRENT ACCOUNT AND TRADE BALANCE, JULY 2025

Month-over-month (July 2025 vs June 2025)

The current account  surplus narrowed by ¥515.1 billion to ¥1,882.8 billion.                                                          

  • the goods trade surplus changed to a deficit of ¥278.2 billion.
  • the services trade deficit widened by ¥322.8 billion to ¥450.7 billion
  • the primary income surplus widened by ¥90.7 to ¥3,173.6 billion
  • the secondary income deficit narrowed by ¥116.1 billion to ¥561.8 billion

The goods trade surplus changed to a deficit of ¥278.2 billion.

  • goods exports decreased ¥285.6 billion to ¥8,563.8 billion.
  • goods imports increased ¥113.6 billion to ¥8,842.1 billion.
