Nova Scotia's manufacturing shipments increased 0.1% to $1.081 billion. National shipments increased 2.5% to $70.3 billion.
Manufacturing shipments were up in seven provinces. Saskatchewan reported the largest monthly increase in manufacturing shipments while Newfoundland and Labrador, and Manitoba reported the largest decreases.

Year-over-year (July 2025 vs July 2024)
Nova Scotia's manufacturing shipments increased by 0.8% the largest increase among the provinces compared to the same month in 2024. National shipments decreased 1.7% in manufacturing shipments with declines in all provinces except Nova Scotia and Quebec. Newfoundland and Labrador reported the steepest decline.

Year-to-date (January-July 2025 vs January-July 2024)
Nova Scotia's manufacturing shipments increased by 5.0% compared to the same period in 2024. National shipments decreased 0.9%. Six provinces reported decreases, led by Newfoundland and Labrador. Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia reported the strongest gains.
Nova Scotia year-to-date shipments were up for both durables and non-durables. Durable goods shipments from areas inside Halifax account for the larger portion of the province's durables output. The majority of Nova Scotia's non-durable manufacturing shipments comes from outside the city.
In Halifax, durable goods shipments were little changed while non-durables edged up slightly. Outside Halifax, shipments were up for both durables and non-durables.

Nova Scotia's year-to-date durable goods shipments increased 6.6%, while non-durable goods shipments increased 6.0% in the same period. In Halifax, non-durable goods shipments increased 0.3% and durables declined 0.02%, year-to-date. Outside Halifax, durables rose 14.8% while non-durables increased 4.6%.

Trends
Periodic spikes in Nova Scotia's shipments values are not uncommon. Throughout 2024, manufacturing shipments were stable, with volatility at both the national and provincial levels. In 2025, Nova Scotia's shipments have continued to grow while national shipments trended down.
