EU AND EURO AREA TRADE BALANCE IN GOODS, JULY 2025

Month-over-month (July 2025 vs June 2025, seasonally adjusted)

In the 27 countries of the European Union, the trade surplus in goods widened by €3.2 billion to €5.0 billion. Exports from the European Union were down 0.4% to €213.3 billion while imports were down by 2.0% to €208.3 billion.                                                                                                                 

In the 20 countries of the Euro Area, the surplus in goods trade widened by €1.6 billion to €5.3 billion. Exports from the Euro Area edged down 0.1% to €237.8 billion while imports were down by 0.8% to €232.5 billion.

European Union trade in goods with Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom

  • the European Union's surplus in goods trade with Canada widened by €626.6 million to €1.6 billion.
  • the European Union's surplus in goods trade with the US narrowed by €511.1 million to €10.7 billion. 
  • the European Union surplus in goods trade with the UK narrowed by €677.0 million to €15.6 billion. 

Euro Area Trade in goods with Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom

For the subset of European Union countries that use the Euro

  • the Euro Area surplus in goods trade with Canada widened by €322.6 million to €0.9 billion.
  • the Euro Area surplus in goods trade with the US narrowed by €526.5 million to €8.9 billion. 
  • the Euro Area surplus in goods trade with the UK narrowed by €295.0 million to €12.8 billion.
