UK CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, AUGUST 2025

UK Consumer Price Index including owner-occupiers' housing costs (CPIH) rose 4.1% year-over-year in August 2025, down from 4.2% year-over-year in July 2025. The UK CPI index was up 3.8% year-over-year in August, unchanged year-over-year in July. The owner occupiers' housing costs component accounts for approximately 17% of the CPIH. It is the main driver for differences between the CPIH and CPI inflation rates. The largest upward contribution was from restaurants and hotels. The largest downward contributions were from transport and housing and household services (including owner occupiers' housing costs).
