JAPAN CURRENT ACCOUNT AND TRADE BALANCE, SEPTEMBER 2025

Month-over-month (September 2025 vs August 2025)

The current account  surplus widened by ¥1,958.6 billion to ¥4,347.6 billion.                                                        

• the goods trade surplus widened by ¥234.3 billion to ¥325.5 billion
• the services trade deficit widened by ¥54.0 billion to ¥287.1 billion
• the primary income surplus widened by ¥1,759.7 to ¥4,728.19 billion
• the secondary income deficit narrowed by ¥18.6 billion to ¥418.9 billion

The goods trade surplus widened by ¥234.3 to ¥325.5 billion.

• goods exports increased ¥411.9 to ¥9,286.5 billion.
• goods imports increased ¥177.6 billion to ¥8,961.0 billion.
