CANADA'S BALANCE OF INTERNATIONAL PAYMENTS Q3 2025

Quarter-over-quarter (all countries, seasonally adjusted, Q2 2025 vs. Q1 2025)

Canada's current account receipts increased $10.0 billion to $323.4 billion while current account payments declined $1.9 billion to $333.1 billion. The resulting net current account deficit narrowed by $11.9 billion to $9.7 billion.

Goods exports were up $3.3 billion to $186.0 billion while goods imports were down $4.1 billion to $197.1 billion. As a result, the goods balance deficit narrowed to $11.1 billion.

Services exports were up $1.1 billion to $59.8 billion while services imports decreased $153 million to $59.2 billion. The change of $1.2 billion pushed the services surplus of $540 million.

Primary income receipts increased $4.8 billion to $72.2 billion while primary income payments increased $1.8 billion to $69.0 billion. The primary income surplus rose by $3.0 billion to $3.2 billion.

Secondary income receipts increased $814 million to $5.5 billion while secondary income payments increased by $464 million to $7.8 billion. The resulting net secondary income deficit narrowed by $351 million to $2.3 billion.
