EU AND EURO AREA UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, OCTOBER 2025

Eurostat has reported that the unemployment rate in the Euro Area was 6.4% in October 2025, unchanged from September. For the broader 27 countries of the entire European Union, the unemployment rate was 6.0% in October 2025, unchanged from the revised September result.

The Euro Area youth unemployment rate was unchanged at 14.8% in October 2025. In the European Union, the youth unemployment rate was unchanged at 15.2% in October. 

The unemployment rate for females in the Euro Area was 6.6% (unchanged) and the male unemployment rate was 6.1% in October (down from 6.2% in September). The European Union unemployment rate for females was 6.3% (up from 6.2% in September) and the unemployment rate for males was 5.8% in October 2025, unchanged from the previous month.

Among EU member state economies, the October unemployment rates were highest in Spain, Finland, and Sweden. The unemployment rate was lowest in Malta, Czechia, and Poland.
