NEW HOUSING PRICE INDEX, NOVEMBER 2025

Monthly (November 2025 vs October 2025)

New housing prices in Nova Scotia were unchanged from October to November 2025. Nationally the price of new houses was unchanged, with growth in the prairie provinces and Québec offset by declines in Ontario and British Columbia. The Atlantic provinces reported no change from the previous month. 

Year-over-year (November 2025 vs November 2024) 

Nova Scotia’s new housing prices increased 4.9% from November 2024 to November 2025. Nationally, prices were down 1.9%.

New housing prices increased year-over-year in seven provinces, led by Nova Scotia. Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia reported declines. 

Halifax new home prices increased 4.9% year-over-year in November 2025. Among Census Metropolitan Areas, new housing prices were down year-over-year in fifteen cities, led by Toronto, Edmonton and London. Québec City, Halifax and Regina reported the largest year-over-year gains.

Year to date (January-November 2025 vs January-November 2024)

In the first eleven months of 2025, Nova Scotia's new housing price index was 4.6% higher compared to the same period in 2024, the fastest increase among provinces. Nationally, new housing prices were down 1.0% year-to-date despite gains in seven provinces. Year-to-date declines in new housing prices were reported in Ontario (fastest), British Columbia and Alberta.

Halifax new housing prices were up 4.6% in January-November 2025 compared to January-November 2024. The fastest growth among CMAs was in Québec City and the fastest declines were in London and Toronto.
