Nova Scotia's manufacturing shipments decreased 1.2% to $1.014 billion. National shipments decreased 1.2% to $70.77 billion.
Manufacturing shipments were down all provinces except New Brunswick and Québec. Newfoundland and Labrador reported the largest monthly decrease.

Year-over-year (November 2025 vs November 2024)
Nova Scotia's manufacturing shipments increased by 1.2% year-over-year. National shipments decreased 1.1%. Six provinces reported declines, led by Newfoundland and Labrador. Prince Edward Island reported the largest increase.

Year-to-date (January-November 2025 vs January-November 2024)
Nova Scotia's manufacturing shipments increased by 2.6% in January-November, compared to the same period in 2024. National shipments decreased 0.3%. Five provinces reported increases, led by Prince Edward Island (followed by Nova Scotia). Newfoundland and Labrador reported the steepest decline.

Nova Scotia manufacturing shipments were up year-to-date for both durable and non-durable goods. Durable goods shipments from Halifax account for the larger portion of the province's durables output. The majority of Nova Scotia's non-durable manufacturing shipments comes from outside the city.

Nova Scotia's year-to-date durable goods shipments increased 4.9%, while non-durable goods shipments increased 1.1% in the same period. In Halifax, durable goods shipments increased 1.7% and non-durables grew 0.6%, year-to-date. Outside Halifax, durable goods shipments rose 8.8% while non-durables increased 1.2%.

Trends
Periodic spikes in Nova Scotia's shipments values are not uncommon. Nova Scotia's manufacturing shipments grew through the first half of 2025, but have contracted sharply since August. National shipments trended down in the first part of 2025 and have rebounded in data from recent months.
