January 30, 2026EU AND EURO AREA UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, DECEMBER 2025 
The unemployment rate in the Euro Area was 6.2% in December 2025, down from the revised November unemployment rate of 6.3%. For the broader 27 countries of the entire European Union, the unemployment rate was stable at 5.9% in December 2025.
Among EU member state economies, December unemployment rates were highest in Finland, Spain, and Sweden. The unemployment rate was lowest in Malta, Czechia, and Poland.
