Nova Scotia's manufacturing shipments increased 3.9% to $1.056 billion, the largest percentage increase among provinces. National shipments increased 0.6% to $71.00 billion.
Manufacturing shipments were up in six provinces, with New Brunswick having the largest percentage decline among provinces from November to December 2025.

Year-over-year (December 2025 vs December 2024)
Nova Scotia's manufacturing shipments increased by 2.4% year-over-year. National shipments decreased 1.1%. Six provinces reported declines, led by Newfoundland and Labrador. Prince Edward Island reported the largest increase.

Annual 2025 vs 2024
Nova Scotia's manufacturing shipments increased by 2.7% in 2025 compared to 2024. National shipments decreased 0.4%. Five provinces reported increases, led by Prince Edward Island (followed by Nova Scotia). Newfoundland and Labrador reported the steepest decline.

Nova Scotia manufacturing shipments were up in 2025 for both durable and non-durable goods. Durable goods shipments from Halifax account for the largest portion of the province's durables output. The majority of Nova Scotia's non-durable manufacturing shipments comes from outside the city.

Nova Scotia's 2025 durable goods shipments increased 4.3%, while non-durable goods shipments increased 1.6% in the same period. In Halifax, durable goods shipments increased 3.3% and non-durables remained unchanged in 2025. Outside Halifax, durable goods shipments rose 5.5% while non-durables increased 2.0%.

Trends
Periodic spikes in Nova Scotia's shipments values are not uncommon. Nova Scotia's manufacturing shipments grew through the first half of 2025, but have contracted sharply since August. National shipments trended down in the first part of 2025 and have rebounded in data from recent months.

Nova Scotia's annual manufacturing shipments of $12.76 billion were a $337 million increase from their level in 2024. With the exception of the pandemic-related decline in 2020, Nova Scotia's manufacturing shipments had increased in value in every year from 2015 to 2025.
