February 18, 2026UK CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, JANUARY 2026 
UK Consumer Price Index including owner-occupiers' housing costs (CPIH) rose 3.2% year-over-year in January 2026, down from 3.6% year-over-year in December 2025. The UK CPI index was up 3.0% year-over-year in January 2026, down from 3.4% year-over-year in December 2025. The owner occupiers' housing costs component accounts for approximately 18% of the CPIH. It is the main driver for differences between the CPIH and CPI inflation rates. The only downward contributions came from furniture and household goods offset by a strong upward contribution from education.
