April 01, 2026US RETAIL SALES AND FOOD SERVICE RECEIPTS, FEBRUARY 2026 Month-over-month (February vs January 2026, seasonally adjusted)

US retail sales increased 0.6% from the previous month. Food service and drinking places receipts rose 0.4%.
Year-over-year (February 2026 vs February 2025, seasonally adjusted)
US retail trade increased 3.5% and food services and drinking places sales increased 5.2%.

Year-to-date (January-February 2026 vs January-February 2025)
In the first two months of 2026, retail trade and food services receipts were up 3.5% compared to the same period of 2025. US retail sales were up 3.3% with gains in all categories except furniture and gas stations. The fastest gains (in percentage terms) were in miscellaneous, sport/recreation, and non-store retailers. Food service receipts were up 4.5% in January-February 2026.
