CANADA BUSINESS SECTOR LABOUR PRODUCTIVITY, Q1 2026

Labour productivity of Canadian businesses fell at a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 2.0% from Q4 2025 to Q1 2026, following a revised decline of 1.2% in Q4 2025. Hours worked rose 1.5% while output dropped 0.6%.

Total compensation per hour increased at a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 3.5% in Q1 2026. Unit labour costs of Canadian businesses rose at a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 5.6% in Q1 2026.
