Month-over-month (April vs March 2026, seasonally adjusted)
The United Kingdom (UK) goods and services trade deficit narrowed by £1.2 billion to £8.4 billion in April. Exports of goods and services increased 1.1% (£0.8 billion) to £80.0 billion and imports of goods and services decreased 0.4% (£0.4 billion) to £88.4 billion.
The UK goods trade deficit narrowed by £1.2 billion to £26.0 billion. Exports of goods increased 2.4% (£0.8 billion) to £33.1 billion and imports of goods decreased 0.7% (£0.4 billion) to £59.2 billion.
The UK services trade surplus widened by £0.1 billion to £17.6 billion. Exports of services increased 0.2% (£0.1 billion) to £46.9 billion and imports of services remained unchanged at £29.2 billion.

The UK goods and services trade balance deficit widened by £4.5 billion from April 2025 to £8.4 billion in April 2026. The goods trade deficit widened by £5.0 billion and the services trade surplus widened by £0.6 billion.

The UK-EU goods trade deficit widened by £1.0 billion to £13.0 billion. Exports of goods increased by 2.6% (£0.4 billion) to £16.6 billion and imports of goods increased by 4.9% (£1.4 billion) to £29.5 billion.
The UK-non-EU goods trade deficit narrowed by £2.1 billion to £13.0 billion. Exports of goods increased 2.1% (£0.3 billion) to £16.6 billion and imports of goods decreased 5.7% (£1.8 billion) to £29.6 billion.

The UK-EU goods trade deficit widened by £0.8 billion and non-EU goods trade deficit widened by £4.2 billion.
