UK CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, MAY 2026

UK Consumer Price Index including owner-occupiers' housing costs (CPIH) rose 3.0% year-over-year in May 2026, unchanged from year-over-year in April 2026. The UK CPI index was up 2.8% year-over-year in May 2026, also unchanged from year-over-year in April. The owner occupiers' housing costs component accounts for approximately 18% of the CPIH. It is the main driver for differences between the CPIH and CPI inflation rates. Large increases in transportation and communications were equally offset by downward contributions from 8 divisions, led by food and non-alcoholic beverages.
