September 08, 2026EU AND EURO AREA GDP, Q2 2026 (FINAL ESTIMATE)

In the revised GDP estimate for Q2 2026, the seasonally adjusted annualized growth rate for real GDP was 2.6% for both the European Union and the Euro Area (a subset of 21 of the 27 nations of the European Union).
Among member states reporting results for Q2, quarter over quarter growth was fastest in Ireland, followed by Slovenia, Lithuania and Sweden. Romania, Belgium and France reported no growth while GDP declined in Austria in Q2.
The European Union economy was 1.4% larger compared to the second quarter of 2025. The Euro Area economy was 1.2% larger in Q2 2026 than in Q2 2025.

Growth in the second quarter was due to a notable rise in exports that more than offset growth in imports, as well as growth in household consumption.
