US CURRENT ACCOUNT Q2 2026

The US current account deficit widened by $33.4 billion from Q1 2026 to Q2 2026, reaching $246.0 billion.

  • The US deficit in goods trade widened by $40.4 billion to $291.3 billion
  • The US surplus in services trade narrowed by $0.6 billion to $91.5 billion
  • The US primary income balance deficit narrowed by $4.4 billion to $11.4 billion
  • The US deficit in secondary income flows declined by $3.2 billion to $34.8 billion

In Q2 2026, US goods exports increased by $27.1 billion to $640.3 billion, while US goods imports grew by $67.4 billion to $931.6 billion, resulting in a deficit of $291.3 billion. 

 

In Q2 2026, US services exports increased by $4.1 billion to $326.9 billion, while services imports rose $4.7 billion to $235.4 billion. The US surplus in services trade fell to $91.5 billion in Q2 2026.

In Q2 2026, US primary income receipts increased $24.7 billion to $416.2 billion, while primary income payments increased $20.3 billion to $427.6 billion. The US primary income deficit narrowed to $11.4 billion.

In Q2 2026, US secondary income receipts increased $2.9 billion to $61.0 billion while US secondary income payments decreased $0.3 billion to $95.8 billion.  The US secondary income deficit narrowed to $34.8 billion.
