CANADA'S BALANCE OF INTERNATIONAL PAYMENTS 2021Q2

 

Current Account - All Countries (Seasonally adjusted, 2021Q2 vs 2021Q1)

In Canada, the current account receipts income increased $1.594 billion to $220.9 billion while payments income decreased $0.173 billion to $217.3 billion. The resulting current account income surplus widened by $1.766 billion to $3.6 billion.

Exports of goods & services receipts income increased $1.293 billion to $181.7 billion while imports goods & services payments income increased $1.110 billion to $179.9 billion. The resulting goods & services income surplus widened by $0.182 billion to $1.8 billion.

Exports primary income receipts income increased $1.081 billion to $36.0 billion while imports primary income payments income decreased $0.604 billion to $33.1 billion. The resulting primary income surplus widened by $1.685 billion to $3.0 billion.

Exports secondary income receipts income decreased $0.780 billion to $3.1 billion while imports secondary income payments income decreased $0.680 billion to $4.3 billion. The resulting secondary income deficit widened by $0.100 billion to $1.2 billion.

BALANCE OF PAYMENTS WITH THE UNITED STATES (Unadjusted, 2021Q2)

In Canada, the current account with the United States, receipts trade increased 4.2% ($6.107 billion) to $152.7 billion while payments trade increased 3.1% ($3.929 billion) to $130.5 billion. Current account trade surplus widened by 10.9% ($2.178 billion).

Exports of goods and services trade increased 4.9% ($6.199 billion) to $132.3 billion while imports of goods and services trade increased 3.5% ($3.752 billion) to $111.8 billion. Goods and services trade widened by 13.5% ($2.447 billion).
