EU AND EURO AREA TRADE BALANCE IN GOODS, MAY 2022

EURO AREA (EA19 - May 2022 vs. Apr 2022, not seasonally adjusted)


The Euro Area's goods trade with the rest of the world recorded a deficit of €26.3 billion. Euro Area exports increased €24.4 billion (10.9%) to €248.5 billion. Euro Area imports increased €17.9 billion (7.0%) to €274.8 billion.

                                                                                                                            

EUROPEAN UNION (EU27 - May 2022 vs. Apr 2022, not seasonally adjusted)

The European Union's goods trade with the rest of the world recorded a deficit of €35.0 billion. European Union exports increased €22.7 billion (11.4%) to €221.2 billion. European Union imports increased €12.8 billion (5.3%) to €256.2 billion.

TRADE PARTNERS (May 2022 vs. Apr 2022, not seasonally adjusted)

The European Union's goods trade with:

  • the United Kingdom recorded a surplus of €8.0 billion
  • Canada recorded a surplus of €2.0 billion
  • the United States recorded a surplus of €15.1 billion
