October 15, 2024UK UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, JUNE TO AUGUST 2024 
The UK Office for National Statistics reported today that the unemployment rate for the three-month period June to August 2024 declined to 4.0%. This was down from 4.2% from the same period a year ago.
There were 1.386 million unemployed people in the UK, 66,000 less than from a year earlier. Employment in the UK was at 33.372 million, 344,000 more compared to a year earlier. UK labour force increased by 278,000 over the past year to 34.759 million.
