May 21, 2026EURO AREA CURRENT ACCOUNT, MARCH 2026 Month over month (March 2026 vs February 2026, seasonally adjusted)

Month over month, the Euro Area current account surplus narrowed by €10.7 billion to €14.9 billion
- Goods trade surplus narrowed by €12.0 billion to €14.3 billion
- Services trade surplus narrowed by €1.2 billion to €14.0 billion
- Primary income deficit narrowed by €4.0 billion, becoming a surplus of €2.3 billion
- Secondary income deficit widened by €1.5 billion to €15.8 billion
The Euro Area's exports of goods decreased by 3.2% to €235.9 billion. Imports of goods increased 2.0% to €221.6 billion.

Exports of services from the Euro Area decreased by 2.4% to €136.1 billion while imports of services to the Euro Area decreased 1.7% to €122.1 billion.

Primary income receipts for the Euro Area decreased by 2.1% to €117.5 billion while payments decreased by 5.4% to €115.2 billion.

Secondary income receipts in the Euro Area decreased by 5.1% to €16.4 billion while secondary income payments from the Euro Area increased by 1.9% to €32.2 billion.
