UK Consumer Price Index including owner-occupiers' housing costs (CPIH) rose 2.8% year-over-year in June 2026, down 0.2 percentage points from its year-over-year in May 2026. The UK CPI index was up 2.8% year-over-year in June 2026, unchanged from year-over-year in May.
Owner occpupiers' housing costs account for roughly 18% of the CPIH basket and remain the principal reason CPIH differs from CPI, as it is included in CPIH but excluded from CPI. In June, transport and food and non-alcoholic beverages made the largest downward contributions to the annual inflation rate, contributing to the easing of both CPIH and CPI inflation.
