NEW HOUSING PRICE INDEX, JANUARY 2019

The price of new housing in Nova Scotia rose 0.3 per cent in January 2019. Nova Scotia's new housing price index rose to 101.9, month over month. The national index fell by 0.1 per cent to 103.2.

In Nova Scotia, new housing prices were 0.9 per cent higher than they were in January 2018. In year over year terms, national housing prices fell for the first time since December 2009.

Census Metropolitan Areas

Year over year, price growth among Census Metropolitan Areas was fastest in Ottawa, London, Montreal and Windsor.  New housing prices declined the most in Regina, Toronto, and Calgary.
